Look Ahead to 2021 Season: Nats

Championship hangover season is over. The Nats will compete in the toughest division in baseball to try to recapture their 2019 magic.

2020 Record: 26-34

A record not indicative of their record is the best way to describe the Nationals and their efforts in 2020. They've added Josh Bell, and they still have a monster pitching staff that would serve postseason hopes well. They have to outplay their NL East counterparts, and the Mets stand in their way of 2nd place, assuming Atlanta keeps winning the division. The Marlins and Phillies won't go down without a fight, either. If Washington can snag a wild card spot, they won't be underestimated, but getting there will be the challenge.

Tier: 3 (Playoff Contender)

It was difficult choosing between tiers 3 and 4, but their division sees each team competing for the rights to play late in October, and a champion two years removed should be recognized. As long as they don't repeat what the Royals did after 2015, Washington will be very much alive.
