Where MLB Teams Rank On The Mound & In The Box
The 2022 Regular Season is approaching a third of the way to the finish line. How is everyone's squad doing?

The New York Yankees are atop the leaderboards in all of baseball with a 33-13 record, comfortably leading their division by 6.5 games. Other standouts thus far in the American League include the Astros, Twins, Angels, and Rays.
In the National League the Dodgers lead the pack with a 31-14 record, leading their NL West rival Padres by 2 games and their arch-rival Giants by 6.5 games. The Mets are still rolling with a 30-17 record that is best in their division and third-best overall in the NL. The other notable successes reside in the NL Central as the Brewers and Cardinals are the only other teams with winning records. Teams like the Braves and Phillies are struggling to gain traction.
Let's take a look at every team's OPS and ERA heading into May 28 games:

A few things jump off the page right away. San Diego has mustered up the second-best record in the NL while struggling on offense, which should be a dangerous sight for other teams if the Padres can begin waking up their bats.
The Red Sox are underperforming their statistics, and might be trending upwards in a tough division. If they can keep up with Tampa Bay and Toronto on the pitching side of things, they'll leapfrog them in the leaderboards soon enough. The AL East can continue to be the most intriguing division in the sport.
The Phillies are also underperforming in relation to their placement on the graph, but that's mostly thanks to their awful bullpen.
Then there's the Dodgers, who appear to be miles ahead of the pack with a great combination of strong pitching and OPS, thanks to MLB-best tallies in runs, walks and slugging as well as the lowest number of runs allowed on the other side of the field. Despite their enormous statistical dominance, the Yankees are still the team to beat as of right now.
