Look Ahead to 2021 Season: Rays

Did Kevin Cash make Blake Snell want to sign with San Diego? No. The Padres were already an attractive suitor.

2020 Record: 40-20

The Rays were incredible last year, but the Yankees won't be as bad as they were, making things interesting for TB. The Yankees should win the division in a situation that seems similar to the NL West with the Padres being great but having to compete with the Dodgers. The Rays can still make noise in the postseason as a 4-6 seed, and we'll see if they can repeat their 2020 success.

Tier: 3 (Playoff Contender)

An argument can be posed about the Rays being a tier higher, but there should only be a couple serious suitors ahead of them, and the Rays aren't as good as the Yankees or White Sox, and the loss of Blake Snell hurts. They will still make the playoffs and could certainly make it to the ALCS.
