Look Ahead to 2021 Season: Giants

The Giants sneakily almost made the playoffs last year, but without an expanded postseason, they won't make it past the Padres or Dodgers.

2020 Record: 29-31

19 games against Arizona and Colorado will prove helpful for San Francisco this year, but 38 games against the Dodgers and Padres is very intimidating. The Giants hope that they can keep playing well against the Dodgers; last year they won four of ten against them, and it would've been interesting to see how a three-game wild card series played out. As a Dodger fan I can say I'm glad we didn't face them, as silly as that sounds.

Tier: 4 (Wild Card Straggler)

1st and 2nd in the NL West will belong to the Dodgers and Padres, in either respective order. 4th and 5th place should go to the D-Backs and Rockies, so the middle ground is San Francisco's to behold. Their chances to make the NL Wild Card game are contingent on the NL East teams tearing each other apart record-wise, as well as teams in the NL Central in the Cardinals and Brewers. If in fact there is no expanded postseason, it will be challenging for the Giants to get a wild card entry since the 2nd NL West team would get it. Let's just say SF is hoping for a repeat format of last year.
