Francisco Lindor, New York Met. The team out of Flushing hopes he can have the Mookie effect on them.

2020 Record: 26-34

The Mets need to give Jacob deGrom the help he deserves and let him shine in the postseason. They're becoming Angels-like, but the addition of Francisco Lindor proves Steve Cohen's ambition to make the Mets the Dodgers of the east. Can the Mets seriously challenge Atlanta for the division championship? Yes, they can, but even second place would serve them will considering the playoff expansion that seems likely in 2021 and beyond. Don't sleep on Pete Alonso, either. Two years removed from hitting 53 home runs for the rookie record, he should give the offense a boost alongside the franchise cornerstone in Lindor.

Tier: 3 (Playoff Contender)

Just barely ahead of Washington, Philly, and Miami in the prospective NL East rankings, the Mets seem to have a better shot at the two seed than the rest of the field. We could see a rivalry wild card matchup with the Phillies that would surely be entertaining in a three game miniseries. The Mets are finally serious about winning.
