Mid-Season Report Card: Magic

The Orlando Magic's glorious run of first-round exits is most likely over. Vooch deserves better.

It's time to rebuild

They haven't had success since the Dwight Howard days, and their constant playoff flame outs are a byproduct of a weak Eastern Conference allowing them to be there in the first place.

It's unfortunate that Markelle Fultz was injured, and he can look to be the face of their young core moving forward. They have veteran assets that would be good on contenders, better served that way rather than on this Orlando team that isn't going anywhere.

Aaron Gordon, Terrence Ross, and Evan Fournier should be dealt by the team or let walk in free agency. Nikola Vucević should be traded to a contender this season if they don't wish to lose him, too.

Marketability

The Magic are probably the most boring team in the NBA alongside Minnesota. Let the young guys play more and test the waters of upside and potential. Call up some studs from Lakeland and see how they fare against NBA competition. Do something that brings some joy to your poor fans.

Cole Anthony and Markelle Fultz will be good for this team and basketball when both healthy, and perhaps this can help send the Magic in the right direction, because it's bad.
