Mid-Season Report Card: Thunder

After losing their two veteran point guards, their drop-off this season was expected. Sam Presti has a depository of picks for rebuilding.

The Thunder are hard to watch

Visually, the Thunder are dreadful. They need a rebrand. The orange versus red uniform matchup with the Hawks on a blue court was awful, even if it was Atlanta's fault. But really, the Thunder have more draft picks than players, and they have no identity.

SGA is a star, and will get the recognition he deserves someday, but he needs a real team around him. Lu Dort is one of those fan favorites, but he can't be a second star. If Sam Presti opts to trade away Al Horford at the deadline, we hope it's not for more draft assets because at this rate, every young kid will be hearing their name called to Oklahoma City by Adam Silver and Mark Tatum.

Ceiling

On the outside looking in, they sit in the same room staring at the same ceiling as Sacramento, Houston, and Minnesota. At least for the Thunder, they and the Kings actually could make a run at the P.I.

To what end, though? They'll be beaten by anyone in that tournament. Sam Presti better know something the world doesn't about the upcoming draft stock, because it's becoming a joke.
