Mid-Season Report Card: Wolves

It's Cade Cunningham season. If the lottery fell in their favor, of course. Point being, the wolves will remain at the bottom of the west this year.

The Wolves shouldn't be last

Minnesota has more talent than the Thunder and the Kings, and they seem like they should be in the play-in race with Russell and Towns, but they've been abysmal. Towns has missed a chunk of the season for various reasons, and he's gone through more than anyone should ever have to. Basketball should be the least of his concerns right now.

The D'Angelo Russell-led Nets made the playoffs in '18, and this Wolves teams has a lot of talent that hasn't resulted in anything close. Firing Ryan Saunders won't solve things for them.

Future

Something tells me a young guard from Oklahoma State would help their chances. Cade Cunningham is the projected No. 1 pick in the draft, and the lottery teams will all hope to get him.

Anthony Edwards had one of the greatest dunks in recent memory, but he's played way below expectations as a No. 1 pick himself. He's been outplayed by Ball, Wiseman, Haliburton, and the other high-profile youngsters in the league, but his raw talent and upside should help him grow and become very good soon.

Garnett

This team would get a lot of buzz if they moved to Seattle, who's been dying for a team since their Sonics fled for Oklahoma. Kevin Garnett was said to be in talks to purchase the franchise and possibly move them to Seattle, but that's not happening. Shame, it would be the best thing to happen to them since KG himself.

At least Minnesota fans can stay happy that they have a home team, but this team is not living up to anything at the moment.
